Because all vacancies are advertised internally, many people have actively managed their own career - moving between brands and, in some cases, even between job functions. But in many parts of our business we also focus on structured career development for core roles. So in our retail stores career progression is managed through job competencies from sales assistant, to store manager, even through to Area Manager level.
The same is true of our Buying and Merchandising teams where job competencies drive progression. Meanwhile, in our finance teams job rotation ensures that managers have all had exposure to central, retail and buying and merchandising cost management before they take on a senior role.
