Buying
Introducing Buying
Everything you wear, everything you buy, each item hanging in your wardrobe will have been developed by a buyer.
Able to spot a trend at 100 metres, buyers must anticipate and meet customers' needs by working with suppliers to get the right look into stores at the right time. They'll know what the new black is, how wide your trouser legs should be this season and what looks from the red carpet and the runway will be a hit with their customers.
They'll work closely with designers to capture the latest trends, technologists to ensure the fabric and fit are perfect, and with merchandisers who will balance trading and planning to create new and exciting ranges in our stores.
The Role
You'll start out as a Buyer's Administration Assistant, a largely administrative role within the buying team. BAA's take an active part In the buying process by placing purchase orders, monitoring the critical path, attending fit sessions, managing the sample library and carrying out competitive shops.
Your Development
Our competencies will give you a clear idea of what's expected from day one and will support you in your career path. The next step would be Assistant Buyer, then Buyer, Buying Manager, Head of Buying and eventually Buying Director. The time between each stage is largely down to the individual, as drive and motivation play a big part in progressing up the career ladder.
What We’re Looking For
You'll need excellent organisation skills, commercial awareness and a love of fashion trends that go beyond your own wardrobe. We'll expect you to have a fashion-related degree and work experience is essential.
Starting salary
Our starting salary for our BAA role ranges from £17,850 - £18,500. You'll also enjoy a great benefits package. See Why Join Our Team'll also enjoy a great benefits package. See Why Join Our Team.
