The FFAP was established by the Steering Group in 2009 as an employee focus group and sounding board for our Fashion Footprint work. The panel members represent different brands, disciplines and management levels.

The panel has made good progress this year and now has 15 members. Three new employees have joined: two from BHS and one from Outfit. All brands across Arcadia are now represented on the panel, and it is proving to be a lively platform for debate and a catalyst for change.

The panel meets every two months and the focus in 2010-11 was on three main areas:

  • The first was to create, roll out and maintain momentum for the Green Champions initiative.
  • The second area was to roll out the Fashion Footprint programme to our retail staff. This is why we now have a brand Retail Operations Director on our Steering Group.

Our intention is to present our plans and suggestions to all Retail Operations Directors with a view to a full launch of Fashion Footprint into stores after Christmas 2011 with the help of the FFAP. This will include training, recycling, energy management and green champions.

Finally, the FFAP has been exploring an employee volunteering scheme, working with nominated charities. Our Steering Group has agreed to put a pilot in place by early 2012.
