TOPSHOP announced today that Justin Cooke has been appointed as Chief Marketing Officer and will join the business in September 2012.
Justin will oversee all aspects of strategic marketing, PR, VIP relations and personal shopping to take the brand on its next stage of growth, harnessing loyalty and reaching new audiences globally. TOPSHOP has 313 stores in the United Kingdom, 600 outlets in 36 countries and delivers via the internet to more than one hundred countries. The next fully owned TOPSHOP international flagship store launches in Spring 2013 in The Grove, Los Angeles.
Justin has spent the last six years at Burberry, serving as Global Vice President of Public Relations. During his time there, he was engaged in the strategy to re-position Burberry in the media, transforming the British retailer into a global brand.
Sir Philip Green said: “With TOPSHOP’S ambitious plans both at home and overseas for digital marketing and social media in particular, this is a very exciting time to bring someone of Justin’s calibre on board. I am an admirer of how Burberry has been an innovator in many areas, so Justin’s experience from his time there will add a new dynamic to the team, and we are delighted that he is joining us.”
Mary Homer, Managing Director of TOPSHOP added: “Justin will add another dimension to the way we connect with our consumer and help strategically re-define the TOPSHOP customer experience.”
Justin Cooke said of his appointment: “I am excited to be joining TOPSHOP, it is such an iconic British brand that has always been uniquely positioned. This is something we intend to build on, whilst engaging and entertaining our customers in completely new ways.”
