The second largest TOPSHOP/TOPMAN flagship store in the world to open on Fifth Avenue, New York, in Fall 2014
February 5th, 2014 – A further significant stage of development of the TOPSHOP and TOPMAN brands in USA was announced today.
Our continued commitment to drive the TOPSHOP and TOPMAN brands in the largest market in the world is demonstrated today by signing a 40,000 sq foot flagship store on Fifth Avenue, which will be our second largest flagship store in the world. Our iconic UK flagship, on the corner of Oxford and Regent Street in the heart of London’s West End stands at 90,000 square foot.
The new Manhattan store will be located in the prime retail district of Fifth Avenue, on the corner of 49th Street, and is adjacent to the famous Rockefeller Center in a Landmark registered building built by Henry Goelet in 1931.
The store will open in Fall 2014, and several hundred new jobs will be created both within retail and new US Head Office operations based in New York. Full Collections for both brands will be carried including Collaborations, Exclusives, trend-led mainline and full Personal Shopping services.
The building itself is an important milestone in retail architecture; with the upper stories featuring art deco detailing, whilst the lower floors transition to the contemporary style, with continuous glazing on two levels, purposely created to allow dynamic window displays creating a wrap-around dramatic impact on this prestigious corner site.
TOPSHOP and TOPMAN will expand further within the USA with four further new store openings across the country – TOPSHOP and TOPMAN joint stores in Fashion Valley San Diego (17,500 sq foot), and a stand-alone TOPSHOP in Springfield Town Center Washington (5,000 sq foot) in the Fall of 2014 and TOPSHOP and TOPMAN joint stores in Galleria Mall Houston (16,500 sq foot) and Lennox Square Mall Atlanta (15,500 sq foot) slated for Spring 2015.
Fall 2013 saw a significant development in the TOPSHOP and TOPMAN partnership with Nordstrom, with several key openings. TOPSHOP now has presence within 42 Nordstrom stores, and TOPMAN 49 including suits and smart mats, plus presence on the Nordstrom.com website. Discussions continue to build this partnership further over the coming months, with the plan being to extend TOPSHOP to 52 stores, and TOPMAN to 55 this Spring.

In addition to our flagship stores expansion, we are continually developing our topshop.com and topman.com $ sites, and our on-going partnership with Nordstrom continues to develop. I am very excited about Fifth Avenue, having looked for a location there for many years, and I believe this corner is both hugely prominent and perfectly located for our brands. I am also delighted to be entering new markets for the first time in the other great cities.”
Further international franchise expansion of the TOPSHOP and TOPMAN brands continues apace – with 80 key openings in 13 countries in 2013 including Australia, Brazil and Hong Kong, whilst over the next 6 months a further 15 stores in 8 countries are planned including Russia, Turkey and Vietnam.

TOPMAN has fast become a leading British fashion Brand with over 250 stores in its native UK and a further 154 stores internationally across 31 countries. The Brands partnerships with successful Department store chains such as Nordstrom in the US (present within 50 sites including suiting and smart mats) and Karstadt in Germany add further to its international reach.
TOPMAN.COM attracts an average of over 900,000 unique views weekly, with over 100 new products going live online per week and shipping to over 110 countries. It has dedicated transactional platforms for the UK, US, Germany, France and 4 largest Asian markets of Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.
At the heart of TOPMAN is a reliable in-house designed main range, which revolves around the latest trends and is refreshed on a monthly basis.
TOPMAN is a staunch supporter of UK menswear design talent through its own MAN partnership with FashionEast and sponsorship of the British Fashion Council’s NEWGEN MEN scheme. More than 25 designers have received sponsorship and showcasing opportunities and with the NEWGEN MEN scheme in particular, additional tailored business and mentoring support with a view to increasing the success of their business commercially. Since 2005 TOPMAN has continued to collaborate on a range of product and capsular collection projects with in excess of 50 exciting UK and US based designers.
At TOPMAN’s flagship store in Oxford Circus, an average of 75,000 visitors step across its threshold weekly. Currently 25,000 sq ft of dedicated menswear also plays host to the Brands Personal Shopping Service. Launched in 2010 this service sets the Brand apart from its other high street competitors – complimentary and private its team of shoppers and stylist’s aims to deliver a level of service only experienced elsewhere at department stores and high end designers.
