Kate Moss Topshop Spring Summer 2008
March 18 2008 sees the launch of the fifth Kate Moss Topshop collection. Kate encapsulates her ever-changing sense of style through a collection of pieces which channel the bohemian traveller; referencing influences from Ibiza, Miami, India and beyond.
Exquisite feather-weight chiffon dresses and blouses appear in a palette of dusty hues, Aztec prints or 1940's florals. Fluid jersey is printed with hand drawn nautical inspired stripes, native American feather print or embroidered with intricate patterns. Rose pink shirting is scattered with stars or stripes and teamed with narrow leg kick flares.
Gypsy inspired broderie anglaise adorns a midnight blue mini dress and antique white smock top, delicately embroidered with cornflower blue stitching. Mini tunic dresses and capelets are trimmed with tiny glass bugle beading while a silk patchwork print dress with a cut-about hem is inspired by silk scarves. 1950's prom-style cotton dresses are knife pleated, in sherbet yellow and green and white striped seersucker.
Cropped jackets made in pin-striped cotton twill, butter-soft slate grey leather or softly printed silk are bolero shaped. An oversized boyfriend navy blue blazer is finished with an embroidered anchor motif badge.
Dramatic eveningwear includes a stunning black crepe empire-line and floor length gown with tasseled neckline, a jet black beaded flapper dress and a floor-sweeping black printed chiffon dress with waterfall ruffles. A Victorian matador cape is trimmed with black pom-poms made with twisted ribbon.
