Wallis: A Limited Edition SS08

Introducing Wallis: A Limited Edition for Spring/Summer 2008 - a stunning blend of modern-day glamour and golden age couture. The ultimate in elegant, feminine dressing, this is the latest eagerly anticipated collection since premium highstreet brand Wallis launched W:A Limited Edition two years ago. A breathtaking range of timeless pieces which will remain in wardrobes for many seasons to come.

A treasure trove of exquisite dresses; the collection offers a floor-length showpiece in jet black with drawstring halterneck or a fusion of classical mythology and contemporary style in the ethereal coffee lace dress with rose corsages. For a more dramatic splash of colour, bright taffeta dresses with plunging v-necklines and outsize gems in amber and indigo offer a modern take on the must-have summer shift.

Shape and texture is important. Clean, simple lines in structured fabrics create classic pieces and flattering silhouettes, evident in the trouser and short suits in luxury linen, while the black floor-sweeping skirt has an elegant fishtail finish. The pink jacquard smock coat with long chiffon sash creates effect through a unique mix of fabrics, making a pretty feature of the waistline, as does the taffeta coat with striking big bow tie.

A heady mix of shades is inspired by Indian cultures. Hot pink and tangerine orange are worn with muted pastel hues and chic neutrals or styled together for contrasting drama. Flowers are a consistent theme and appear as both embellishment and pattern, while layered jumbo pearls in ivory, pale gold and softest pink look amazing over dresses and coats.

Comprising of twenty unique pieces, between only 100-300 units of each style will be available, underlining the inherent exclusivity and 'one-off' nature of the collection. Prices range from £50 through to £200.
