Breast Cancer Care

Breast Cancer Care

Dorothy Perkins supports Breast Cancer Care, the UK's leading provider of information, practical assistance and emotional support for anyone affected by breast cancer.

All the charity's services are free and include a confidential helpline, online discussion forums, workshops and one-to-one support sessions for people who have had breast cancer.

In just three years Dorothy Perkins has raised over £2 million for the charity through the sale of pin badges, store fundraising, an online charity shop and celebrity designed t-shirts.

The money raised in 2007 was equivalent to the cost of responding to almost 2000 phone calls to the Breast Cancer Care helpline from people in need of urgent information about breast cancer.

Dorothy Perkins will continue to build on their partnership with Breast Cancer Care in 2008.

In 2007, Dorothy Perkins also began supporting the Woodland Trust, the UK's leading woodland conservation charity, to help them with their work of planting more trees.

The Woodland Trust works to protect our woodland and wildlife. They raise awareness of climate change – which is currently the biggest threat to our trees and wildlife. The charity cares for 50,000 acres of woodland in the UK and plants more than 500,000 new native trees each year.

In 2007, Dorothy Perkins designed a number of special Woodland Trust ranges that included bags, t-shirts, flip flops and wellies. These were sold in store and online and raised over £500,000, enough money to plant 100,000 new trees.

There is more activity planned with the Woodland Trust for 2008.
